    FAQs

What is Microsoft exam 70-778 and what certification is it tied to?

Microsoft Exam 70-778: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI is a retired certification exam that covers using Power BI to consume and transform data, model and visualize data, and configure dashboards, reports and apps. Just because Exam 70-778 was retired doesn't mean exam prep for it is useless! If you and your organization use Power BI, this training shows you how to squeeze every drop of usefulness out of it.

Is learning about data analysis and visualization worth it?

Yes, for IT professionals, data analysts and managers alike, knowing data analysis and virtualization makes it easier to communicate complicated ideas, unravel messy problems, and discover new insights about productivity. Microsoft Power BI is a powerful tool that transforms raw information into actionable insights. Learning to develop with Power BI and its features shows you how to analyze data efficiently, present complex data in appealing ways and facilitate clear communication.

Is a Microsoft data analysis certification worth it?

Yes, earning a Microsoft data analysis certification is a good way to prove to your employer (or future employer) that you're committed to professional development of yourself and your organization. Transforming data, creating models, visualizing data and sharing assets are all valuable skills for anyone who works with a data-driven organization, and by earning a Microsoft data analysis certification, you prove your up-to-date familiarity and skills with a powerful productivity tool.

Is this course useful for earning a certification?

Microsoft retired Exam 70-778 in January 2021, but that doesn't mean the course or the content on it isn't helpful when it comes to earning a certification. Microsoft's current data analysis certification is called Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. Its exam, PL-300, covers data visualizations, data transformation, and data models. All that material is also covered by this course, albeit for an earlier version of the certification's exam.

How hard is the Power BI data visualization certification?

The current Power BI exam is moderately challenging, testing foundational familiarity with data concepts and using Power BI. For someone with several years of experience in data visualization or developing in Power BI, the exam represents a fair challenge of everything that can be done with the tool. For someone with little to no data visualization background, it would be very challenging to prepare for the exam without training.

    Who is this for?

This Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI (70-778) training is considered associate-level Microsoft training, which means it was designed for data analysts. This 70-778 course is valuable for new IT professionals with at least a year of experience with productivity tools and experienced data analysts looking to validate their Microsoft skills.
