Juniper certifications
It‘s often noted Juniper Networks is a smaller company than Cisco, but market share and revenue are just half of the picture. Juniper primarily serves internet service providers (ISPs) with high-end routers, switches, firewalls, and software-defined networking (SDN) products. Juniper doesn’t have the same market share as Cisco, and that’s a good thing.
From this relative scarcity of Juniper-certified engineers comes opportunity.
Juniper Certification Training Tracks
The Juniper Networks Certification Path (JNCP) framework includes certifications across seven Juniper certification tracks at three certification levels — Associate, Specialist, and Professional. Among these tracks, the Enterprise Routing and Switching is by far the most popular. The entry point into this Juniper certification track is the JNCIA-Junos — an entry-level exam that ensures network engineers are proficient with the Juniper operating system, Junos OS.
Engineers working in a service provider environment may run into both Cisco and Juniper hardware and software throughout their career. However, many network engineers specialize with one vendor. For engineers specializing with Juniper, they’ll follow the Juniper certification roadmap as they advance.
CBT Nuggets offers online certification training for two of the most popular Juniper certifications for entry-level and mid-career engineers.
