Junos Routing Policy and Firewall Filters
In this 17-video, entry-level training, CBT Nuggets trainer Knox Hutchinson covers the knowledge network administrators need to take direct control of the tables, routes, and decisions that decide what packets go where on your network, optimizing your network’s security and efficiency.

All computer networks depend on policies and filters on their network devices to regulate what packets go where. Some of those policies and filters are set up by default, some can be optimized by programs and tools, but by and large the work of configuring them falls on network administrators.
This Junos Routing Policy and Firewall Filters training drills down and focuses on the policies and filters that regulate a Juniper network’s traffic. After taking it, you’ll understand the difference between how network devices know where to send traffic so that it reaches its destination, and how network devices know what sorts of packets are permitted out different interfaces to keep the network safe.
The two-part series covers topics such as managing the size and content of routing tables, advertising different routes based on which are best to reach various destinations, and protecting your router and network from excessive incoming traffic.
