Why Learning the Technical Basics of Windows is Important
Just past the Windows basics, there are many components of a Windows operating system that provide great configurability and control over the Windows-based environment. Understanding these components can elevate a user from a novice practitioner to a Windows Professional. To dig in, let's explore some of the critical technical basics of Windows and address why it's important to have a familiarity with the technical basics.
The Windows registry is a great example of a critical component in the Windows environment that the basic practitioner may not be familiar with. This Windows registry can be thought of as a database containing thousands of database entries known as registry keys. These database entries define the configuration of the Windows system and dictates how the system performs and interacts with other components at the hardware and software level.
By understanding the Windows registry, a user can gain a deeper working understanding of their Windows environment, be able to debug critical errors, and have more control over their Windows environment.
